Earlier today, I encountered new layers of adjectives:
- perky: (adjective): 1. jaunty; cheerful; brisk; pert.
- pert (adjective): 1. boldly forward in speech or behavior; impertinent; saucy. 2. jaunty and stylish; chic; natty.
- natty (adjective): 1. neatly or trimly smart in dress or appearance; spruce
- jaunty (adjective): 1. easy and sprightly in manner or bearing; 2. smartly trim, as clothing.
I’m gonna have to try on using spruce, natty, and jaunty in separate sentences sometime soon. Along the lines of: “I feel jaunty in spite of these clouds.” Or: “His natty pecha kucha slide deck was refreshing.”
I’m trying this jaunty language on.
