Conditions

I’m toggling practices between impatience and patience, between being real with the beauty and brutality of humankind and collective conduct on Earth.

Today, I can sense how, and I know to be true these conditions of satisfaction:

  • The connections I feel and contributions I make into community are mycelial– deepening and expanding, nourishing me and others simultaneously.
  • I’m not living an unlived life.
  • I am more free today than I was 1 year ago.

This is the world that abounds and surrounds me. That phrase from 9th grade Spanish class that persists rent free in my memory: la orilla del mar. Though, I am today year’s old to find out that this, too, is the title of a Jose Gorostiza poem (thanks, internet):

no es agua ni orena,
la orilla del mar

Gorostiza sounding a lot like benthic.
